The DET Graduate

At Danes Educational Trust, we prioritise the character development of our children. From nursery and primary pupils to secondary school students and post 16 trainees, we focus on developing fine young people with self insight and a strong sense of personal identity, integrity and community responsibility. Our character curriculum is inspired by the work of Claxton and Lucas [Educating Ruby, 2015, Crown House Publishing]. We call our character curriculum ‘The DET Graduate’ and it is based on 5Cs of strong character - Courage, Curiosity, Creativity, Compassion and Communication. All of our schools across all learning stages commit to ensuring that these 5Cs are at the centre of our educational provision.
