Digital Creation is a huge growth area in the Creative Arts industries. Virtual production, digital animation, Visual effects, motion graphics and game design all involve digital modelling and the creation of digital assets such as characters and environments.

About:

The Level 1/Level 2 Cambridge National in Creative iMedia is aimed at students aged 14-16 years and will develop knowledge, understanding and practical skills that would be used in the media industry, with a particular focus on developing skills necessary within the game development industry. The first year of the course focuses on developing students' graphic design skills through the Visual Identity and Digital Graphics unit, as well as developing their knowledge and understanding of media industries. The second year is dedicated to applying these skills to designing and creating digital games.This course's NEA (coursework) is worth 60% of the final grade, and the exam (sat in January of the second year) is worth 40% of the final grade.

About:

RSL Level 3 Extended Certificate in Creative Digital Media (Game Design pathway) aims to equip learners with various creative media industry relevant skills with a focus on developing skills necessary for a career in the game industry. We provide students with experience in each aspect of the game design pipeline, from concept art to the developing and pitching of a functioning game level. This breadth of skills prepares students to move on into industry apprenticeships or to further their education in post-secondary. We use industry-standard programs Blender and Unreal Engine 5 to ensure students are fully prepared to take on the creative challenges they will face in their careers to come.
